However, these two worlds have been tenuously entangled for decades. On the one hand, artists continue to ask complex questions that align with a scientific fascination with new discoveries, and on the other hand, it is increasingly apparent that creativity and subjectivity inform science’s objective processes and knowledge systems.

In order to draw parallels between art, science and culture, this publication will explore the ways that selected artworks have contributed to a form of cultural pedagogy. It follows the integration of culture and science in artists’ expressions to create meaningful experiences that expose the probabilities and uncertainties equally present in the world of science.

Purchase Information >>>>>

Review

https://www.scenepointblank.com/blog/quantum-art-and-uncertainty-paul-thomas/

https://leonardo.info/review/2018/12/review-of-quantum-art-and-uncertainty

https://neural.it/2019/03/paul-thomas-quantum-art-uncertainty/

Art and science.

A quest for answers.

Creativity.

There are a range of similar approaches and synergies that apply to all of the aforementioned.

Quantum Art and Uncertainty explores what could be described as inbetween-ness and hard to define middle ground meandering between hammering on the gates of nothingness and the often soulless forward motion that propels our fast-paced life and has accelerated to a devil’s pace over recent years, i.e. it challenges binary thinking and advocates to rethink the way what we perceive to be our natural positioning.

Life is seen as nothing but a flickering light with art being the suspension mechanism and a tool to assess what we are and serve as an anchor.

Each chapter of Quantum Art and Uncertainty deals with one “property, dimension or aspect of quantum phenomena” and the impact of inconstancy, illustrating it using both physics and art and exemplifying the oeuvre or artists or genres like e.g. surrealism with scientific principles and the parallels that are drawn are fascinating if often unintended.

[31

post-1809","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-publications
["GET
